Eurodad launches new report making the case for full country-by-country reporting to aid development
The report “Exposing the lost billions. How financial transparency by multinationals on a country-by-country basis can aid development’ explains how multinationals’ lack of transparency and the existing weak regulatory framework enable corporate tax dodging in developing countries.  The report was launched and its proposal for full country-by-country reporting was discussed at an event in the European Parliament, Brussels on 21 November.

European Union stumbles to Busan. Foreign Affairs Council agrees common EU position
The EU Foreign Affairs Council has agreed on a less than satisfactory Common EU position for the 4th High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, now complementing the positions developed earlier by the European Parliament and Civil Society Organisations . The only specific actions EU governments could agree on were a commitment on Joint Programming of EU aid and a EU Transparency Guarantee.

Eurodad, Oxfam and ActionAid prompt the European Commission to do more and better on budget support
Oxfam International, ActionAid and Eurodad welcome the latest communication of the European Commission (EC) on Budget Support published on October 13, 2011. We believe that budget support is one of the most effective ways of providing aid because it is long-term, predictable and provides direct financial support to partner countries.

PRESS RELEASE: Huge Cost of Tax Evasion Revealed as Campaign to Tackle Tax Havens Launches
New research published by the Tax Justice Network shows that tax evasion costs 145 countries, representing over 98% of world GDP, more than US$3.1 trillion annually.
These new findings come as the Tax Justice Network launches Tackle Tax Havens, a new campaign aimed at the general public that highlights the critical role that these secretive states play in corrupting the global economy.
