Nordic CSOs call for an end to tax haven investments In an open letter, Nordic civil society organisations (CSOs) raised concerns about the tax haven investments of Nordic Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). They called on the development ministers of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland to put an end to tax haven investments, as well as calling for increased transparency of DFIs.

Scale of UK arms loans to dictators revealed for first time Vince Cable’s UK Export Finance has revealed for the first time information on the origin of ‘Third World Debts’ owed to the UK. The new figures shows that three-quarter’s of Indonesia’s £400 million debt comes from loans for military equipment. This includes exports of aircraft and tanks later used against the Indonesian people. The Indonesian people currently pay £50 million a year on this debt. News »
